We put the emphasis on prevention, which gives animals a healthier, longer and happier life. And when more is needed, the laboratory, X-ray and CT, ultrasound, endoscopy and two operating theatres are all under one roof.

Owner and head vet

MVDr. Bystrík Nahalka

I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Veterinary Sciences in Brno (1995). I worked at the veterinary polyclinic of MVDr. Vozár as lead veterinarian and surgeon.

Over more than thirty years in the field I have learned that a good diagnosis is half the success. Continuous education is the foundation for me, because it brings not only professional growth but, above all, full-fledged help to those who need it.

Today I run the modern, professionally equipped Veterinary Clinic Poprad. I make sure my team keeps learning and improving, and that we are a human support for animal patients and their owners as well.

MVDr. Bystrík Nahalka

Over more than thirty years in the field I have learned that a good diagnosis is half the success. Continuous education is the foundation for me, because it brings not only professional growth but, above all, full-fledged help to those who need it.

Veterinary doctor

MVDr. Denis Šlosár

I graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (2016). Since 2022 I have been continuing doctoral studies (PhD) with my own scientific and research work in the field of equine reproduction and gynaecology.

From 2016 I worked at the veterinary polyclinic of MVDr. Vozár, and today I work at Veterinary Clinic Poprad under the guidance of MVDr. Nahalka. At the clinic I provide preventive, therapeutic and emergency care.

In practice I focus mainly on gynaecology, orthopaedics, cardiology, farm animals and exotic animals.

Veterinary doctor

MVDr. Barbora Barteková

I graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (2021). After graduating, I completed a placement abroad at the Vetpark Brandýs veterinary hospital. I have been with Veterinary Clinic Poprad since 2022.

In my practice I focus on internal medicine for dogs and cats, and veterinary dermatology has gradually become my main professional interest. What I enjoy most is diagnosing and managing, over the long term, patients with allergic skin disease, recurrent ear infections, coat disorders, paw problems and the skin signs of endocrine disease.

With dermatology patients I mainly use cytology, trichoscopy, otoscopy, allergy testing and allergen-specific immunotherapy. I try not just to find a way to suppress the current symptoms, but above all to find their cause and a long-term solution for each individual patient.

I keep up my training in dermatology through professional seminars, workshops and the international literature. I am a member of the European Society of Veterinary Dermatology (ESVD). What I enjoy most about this field is being able to follow a patient over the long term and see how the right diagnosis and treatment gradually improve their health and quality of life.

Veterinary doctor

MVDr. Tatiana Šlebodová

Graduate of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (2022). I trained at the polyclinic of MVDr. T. Vozár during my studies and have continued at Veterinary Clinic Poprad since 2022. Field of focus: internal medicine.

In my veterinary practice I also work on the diagnosis and management of heart disease in dogs and cats. I focus mainly on echocardiographic examination and a comprehensive assessment of cardiological parameters, which allow a detailed evaluation of the structure and function of the heart. As supporting diagnostic methods I use chest X-ray, blood pressure measurement and, as needed, ECG.

An important part of my work is not only the diagnosis itself but also regular monitoring of patients, evaluating the progression of the disease and setting an individual treatment plan that takes each patient's particular needs into account.

My goal is to detect heart disease early, determine its severity correctly and help patients keep a good quality of life for as long as possible. Being able to follow a patient over time, see their response to treatment and help them feel better is one of the most rewarding aspects of veterinary cardiology.

Veterinary doctor

MVDr. Ladislav Volák

I graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice in 2025.

During my studies I did my practice at the veterinary polyclinic in Poprad under the guidance of MVDr. Vozár. Since July 2025 I have been a doctor at Veterinary Clinic Poprad under the guidance of MVDr. Nahalka.

Area of focus: internal medicine.

Veterinary doctor

MVDr. Alexandra Kisková

I graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice. Even during my studies I gained practical experience at the Veterinary Polyclinic of MVDr. Vozár. After graduating I completed a year of practice abroad at the Via Nova clinic in Belgium. I have been working at Veterinary Clinic Poprad since 2024.

Of everything in veterinary medicine, small animal ophthalmology appealed to me most. I focus on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, mainly in dogs and cats. I enjoy the precision of the eye examination and diagnostics, where even small details can play an important role.

For ophthalmic patients I use tonometry, ophthalmoscopy and ocular ultrasonography, and in indicated cases advanced imaging including CT.

I regularly continue my education in ophthalmology through practical courses, professional conferences and international congresses. Among others, I have completed a practical course in small animal ophthalmology and I attend events of SVOS and ESVO, which keep expanding my knowledge and experience.

Alongside ophthalmology I also practise general small animal medicine. In my work I value thorough diagnostics, an individual approach to each patient and clear communication with the owner.

Veterinary doctor

MVDr. Kristián Kiovský

I joined the clinic for work experience while still a secondary school student, and I never lost touch with practice during my veterinary studies. After earning my diploma I became a permanent part of the team I grew with professionally.

I focus on general medicine of dogs and cats, preventive care and diagnostics. As a young veterinarian I am actively continuing my education and looking for specific areas I will go deeper into in the future.

The foundation of my work is thorough diagnostics, a responsible approach to patients and clear communication with their owners.

Veterinary assistant

Zuzana Justhová

I graduated from the Secondary Veterinary School in Košice and have worked as a veterinary nurse and assistant since 2003. I started at the polyclinic of MVDr. Vozár and today I am part of the Veterinary Clinic Poprad team.

Over more than twenty years of experience I assist with examinations and procedures, look after patients and do my best to make both the animals and their owners feel comfortable here. I like a patient approach, a good team and everyday work with animals, which is why I still enjoy my job.

… when work is a joy …

Veterinary assistant

Dr. Iryna Zubova

I graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after K. I. Skryabin (graduated in 2008).

From 2009 I worked as a diagnostic imaging and surgery doctor at the Dianavet veterinary clinic in Zaporizhzhia. I have worked at Veterinary Clinic Poprad since 2022.

In veterinary medicine I specialise most in diagnostic imaging (ultrasonography / USG), soft tissue surgery and the care of nephrology patients among small animals. Diagnostic imaging is, for me, the key to a precise and quick diagnosis, which makes it possible to start the right treatment in time.

Alongside diagnostics, surgery and nephrology I also practise general small animal medicine. In my work I value thorough diagnostics, an individual approach to each patient and clear communication with the owner.

Administrative officer and receptionist

Júlia Silvajová

I graduated from Euroškola – Private Business Academy. From 2016 I worked at the polyclinic of MVDr. Vozár, and today I am part of the Veterinary Clinic Poprad team.

I am the first person you and your animals meet. I direct the order of patients and let the doctors know about you. I look after the administrative running of the clinic and make sure you feel welcome here and get clear information.

…after our Megy was attacked by a dog, we were told in Liptovský Mikuláš to come to this clinic straight away because of a hole in her lung. They were waiting for us right after the phone call and saw to her at once, professionally, with immediate surgery. Even though the first prognosis you gave us was not very optimistic, in the end everything turned out well and our little Megy is home with us… Doctor Nahalka, thank you for saving her…
